24 days and I’ve hit 50k

Am I happy? Yes. Am I writing good stuff. No.

Hang on. I’m not writing good stuff? Well, no. It’s the first draft. The dialogue is cheesy, the plot stops and starts in places, there are gaps and the conflict isn’t conflicting enough.

But – it’s the first draft. And boy oh boy will I sort out all of the issues.

My belief = Get the words down quick. Mould them later.

Major changes since I restarted it are:

MC age lowered from 15 to 14

MC parents are not in novel

MC now has an uncle

2 cats are in the novel

2 Female supporting characters merged into 1

4 Male supporting characters merged into 1

Villain will have page time every other chapter but you don’t see him until the 50k mark (out of a 62k novel).

I will make this novel good.
